Miles for Refugees 2022
One Distance. 30 Days. For Every Refugee.
Team Intrepid were asked to chose one of six distances to run, walk, cycle for the month of June; each one representing the journeys people are forced to take to reach safety. From routes like 22 miles across the English Channel or 108 miles from Ukraine to Poland are a great individual fitness challenge.
For each mile completed, Intrepid donated £1 and each team member had a £150 fundraising target to support the British Red Cross refugee services.
The money raised will support refugees in the UK and around the world to find safety, rebuild their lives, and reunite with their loved ones.
- Over 100 Million people have been forced to flee by mid-2022 for the first time on record
- 36.5million of those are children and 1.5 million were born as refugees
- 74% in low and middle income countries, Turkiye hosts the largest number of refugees worldwide.
We did this because we believe that Every Refugee Matters.
