22nd July 2024:
Over two years of planning and preparation and we are finally at the point where we can start fundraising for our epic adventure to row 3,000 miles across The Atlantic Ocean totally unassisted.
We are raising money for The Matt Hampson Foundation and The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust. So far, we have been totally self-funded and have purchased our boat, Pamela. We still have to raise funds to get us to the starting line and are asking you to help us. Please donate if you can to help us on this adventure of a lifetime. We have corporate sponsor slots still available so please contact me if you are interested in having your branding on our boat and social media.
“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” Winston Churchill

Getting Pamela out on the water!
"My Mum’s last big adventure was completing walking the Thames from source to estuary along the Thames path. So it seemed appropriate that we would retrace a few steps for Pamela’s first journey. We are rowing from Marlow rowing club to Henley tomorrow, then back the on Wednesday. We would love to see anyone that can make it, either along the pathway or at either end." Greg

"What a week! Two days of drills, planning and getting to know Pamela then a 48hr row. Highlights:110,000m rowed in two days into a head wind on both days 7,000 calories burnt a day. Continuous man-over-board, big wave and shift change drills Deployed the anchor and para-anchor 6 times. Manual navigated into a river mouth in the dark Most importantly, we had a great time, hardly clashed an oar and no sea sickness. Worst part was how small the cabin is with two people trying to sleep in it, the plan is that that rarely happens if the weather allows and we can stick to our shift patterns." Greg
