A challenge taking Millie out of her comfort zone and try something new in memory of her amazing grandma.
“My Grandma, an amazing, inspirational and loving woman, was diagnosed with cancer when she was 82. She put up the most courageous battle against her cancer and was determined to beat it - she wanted to be around for her family for a good few more years to entertain us, guide us, encourage us and enjoy the company of her devoted family. Unfortunately my Grandma lost her fight after 2 years as the cancer was already, unbeknown to my Grandma, well advanced. My Grandma lived an incredible, adventurous and intrepid life and cared deeply about making a difference. She actively supported many charities and undertook marathons, ultra bike rides etc all around the world to accomplish this end. My Grandma was lucky to achieve more in her lifetime than many, many others of her age do. She always made the most of every opportunity that came her way and if it didn’t come her way, she would pursue another way! This is my way of raising money for a great cause and also trying to be more like my grandma! “ Millie
Why Children with Cancer? It is really distressing to think that many children have to undergo the diagnosis and gruelling treatment that my Grandma went through. I want to think that all children have the best opportunity to access the right treatment at the right time and ensure that they experience the loving support that my Grandma did. I want to think that each child has the greatest chance for success in overcoming their cancer diagnosis and being able to go on and live their lives, creating memories, enjoying all the love and fun that my Grandma did.
